Are You a Cat Person of a Dog Person?

Where people tend to be attracted to people who are opposite of themselves, they tend to have more an affinity to animals more like themselves.

Dogs are more likely to be loyal and loving, whereas your average cat will be independent and low-maintenance. And, believe it or not, you may be more like your pet than you ever thought. Dog people tend to need a little training, whereas a cat person may be a little standoffish.

A study of 4,500 people showed that 46% of people are identified as dog people, 12% cat people, 28% a little of both, and 15% neither cat nor dog people. This study included a 40 question, questionnaire.

Dogs tend to be energetic, loyal, and easy to get along with, which pretty much explains who and what a dog person is. Studies show that the personality of a dog person much resembles that of their beloved dog. There are always exceptions, such as the dog person who just isn't and extrovert, but on average, dog people mirror the traits of dogs.

Conscientious

Dog people are about 11% more conscientious than cat people. This makes dog people self-disciplined and planners. They also tend to have a strong sense of duty.

Extroverted

Dog people are more likely to be extroverts than a cat person. As a group, dog people are 15% more extroverted than cat people. This makes dog people more outgoing, enthusiastic, positive, and energetic.

Agreeable

Dog people are about 13% more agreeable than cat people, making them trusting, altruistic, kind, affectionate, and sociable.

The same concept that says a dog person is more likely to follow the traits of a dog, says that a cat person is going to follow some of the same characteristics of a cat. Cat people are just more curious, unconventional, and prone to worrying.

Neurotic

Cat people are about 12% more likely to become easily stressed. Cat people are just more neurotic, anxious, and worrisome.

Open

Surprisingly, cat people are 11% more likely to be open. Cat people tend to be more curious, creative, artistic, and non-traditional thinkers.
