Undead Vampire Series with Queen Betsy by MaryJanice Davidson

Betsy is your ditsy young woman, who is transformed into a vampire. The series goes through Betsy's relationships with her mother, father, step-mother, half sister, boyfriend, best friend, and others that she meets along the way.

Betsy tries to maintain a normal life after transforming into a vampire, but things get complicated when she finds out that she's destined to be the vampire queen.

Throughout the books, we go through Betsy's transformation into the queen. In many cases, she's plain dumb. She's selfish, and she's plain self-centered. Honestly, I'm not sure how the other characters deal with her, especially Eric Sinclair, who's the sophisticated vampire queen who Betsy marries.

Betsy isn't the best vampire, as she's a new vampire in a world of old vampires. As the queen, she wants to take care of her human friends, maintain a normal life, and prevent vampires from killing innocent people.

Instead of feeding on the innocent, Betsy feeds off Sinclair and criminals. She tries to promote this lifestyle with other vampires, but it's a hard lifestyle to promote when there are so many vampires who are hundreds of years old.

Overall, the book series was a really easy read. The writing itself was simple. The plots weren't overly complicated.

All nine books lead up to a very surprising ending.

I will admit that I can't stand Betsy! And, in the last book, she absolutely made me mad, fiddling with the past, but this all lead up to the surprise ending and wrap-up to the book series. Even still, Betsy was not the ideal main character that I would have liked to have seen.

Davidson has great potential in my eyes, but I hope that she doesn't continue to write about selfish, ditzy, shoe-obsessed vampires. It's weird and annoying.

If you're looking for an easy read, I recommend it. If you're looking for something to exercise your brain cells, find something else to read.
