Of the three major consoles (PlayStation 3, xBox 360, and Wii) the xBox 360 is second in terms of using the most energy. Leaving your xBox 360 on every day, all day, you are using enough energy to run two brand new refrigerators for an entire year, which is a lot considering that video games are considered luxuries, more so than a refrigerator.

You don't have to sacrifice your gaming customs in order to save energy. You can follow the following five steps to set up auto shut-off for your xBox 360. Automatic shut down will turn off your xBox console after it has gone idle for a certain time frame, which will make the console more energy efficient, which will in turn save you money on your power bill.
If you want the dollar amount, bu shutting off your xBox when you are not using it, you will pay about $11 a year for playing video games on an xBox, whereas if you leave the video game console on all the time, you will be paying about $103 a year.
